Outbound Webhooks, API Request Tracing & Sign Reliability

APIeSignaturePlatformSecurity

This week outbound webhooks let your systems react to agreement events in real time, every API response now returns correlation IDs so you can trace a request end to end, and a set of Sign improvements makes annotation placement, email delivery, and mobile signing more dependable.

Outbound Webhooks

  • Real-Time Event Webhooks. You can now subscribe your own systems to Propper events and receive a webhook the moment something happens — no more polling the API to find out when an agreement was sent, viewed, or completed. Webhook endpoints come with end-to-end delivery and visibility into failed deliveries, so you can spot and retry problems quickly. Explore the API docs

Propper Sign Enhancements

  • Accurate Annotations on A4 & Non-US-Letter Documents. Signature and field placement now rescales correctly on documents that aren't US Letter, so annotations land exactly where you placed them on A4 and other page sizes.
  • Mobile Signing Polish. The Finish action stays mounted and its label remains visible on portrait phone viewports, so signers on mobile always have a clear way to complete signing.
  • Complete Records for Cross-Org Recipients. Completion audit details now resolve against the agreement's owning organization, so recipients viewing across organizations see the full, correct completion record.
  • Blocked Emails Surface as Notifications. When a delivery guard blocks an outgoing email, it now appears as a clear blocked notification instead of failing silently — so you know immediately when a recipient didn't receive their invitation.
  • Better Email Rendering & Completion Details. Notification emails now use a table-based layout that renders cleanly in classic Outlook, and the completion email now names the final signer.
  • More Reliable Finalization. Document uploads now automatically retry transient storage errors, so finalizing a signed agreement no longer fails on an intermittent hiccup.
  • Faster Agreement Completion. Completion side effects now run in parallel and unnecessary full-document scans are skipped, trimming the time it takes to wrap up an agreement and create templates from imported documents.

Team Management

  • Roster Visibility & Smarter Invitation Resend. Publisher and author members can now see the member roster, and resending an invitation is status-aware — so you can re-invite the right people without confusion over who has already accepted.

API & Developer Experience

  • Request Correlation on Every Response. All v1 API responses now include x-request-id and traceparent headers, giving you a single identifier to correlate a request across your logs and Propper's when debugging an integration. See the API overview
  • Clearer Validation Errors. The Sign API now validates recipient roles against the allowed action types and returns a 400 for duplicate recipients — surfacing clear, actionable errors instead of generic 500s.
  • Org-Scoped Public API Requests. Public API requests are now strictly bound to their issuing organization, tightening access controls on every call.

Security & Platform

  • Password Requirements Aligned to NIST Guidance. Password validation and the on-screen requirement copy now follow current NIST recommendations, keeping account security modern and the guidance you see accurate.
  • Steadier Pages Under Load. Server-rendered pages are now hardened against unguarded data-fetch errors, so a transient backend hiccup no longer takes a page down.
